Silver Jupiter in Montreal
Göteborgs FyrverkeriFabrik was yesterday awarded the Silver Jupiter at la Ronde. Martin & Anders were there to recive the trophy for our 30-minute pyromusical in the worlds largest fireworks competition.
Yesterday, the 26th "L'International des Feux Loto-Québec" in Montreal was concluded. The worlds largest pyromusical competition has been around since 1985 and 8-9 teams compete every year for a place on the podium, and to bring a "Jupiter" statue home. Every pyromusical is 30 minutes long, and each team gets help from the skilled local 15-people crew.
To be invited to the competition is a proof of merit alone. GFF's first try in 2005 was considered successful despite it did not result in a Jupiter, and the organisers wanted us to come back since then.

Our theme "Memoirs of a DJ" was wildly popular and had the audience literally dancing in their seats. Some of the local crew and local fireworks enthusiasts commented that it was the best show in years.
Martin and Anders were there to recive a prize, that we knew, but it was exciting to see which prize or prizes it would be. There had been a lot of speculation on pyrotechnics forums like this one.
Many wanted us for the Gold Jupiter...

Results: The Gold jupiter went to Canada, Silver Jupiter to Sweden (GFF) and Bronze to France. We att GFF also won a prize for the best soundtrack.
To put this Silver Jupiter into context, we can mention that only about 24 companies in the world has so far received the silver jupiter award.
