Enviromental issues

While fireworks shows cannot be said to be environmentally friendly (like all human activity), they are not an environmental problem either.

In practice there are no environmental impact from fireworks. We have collected all available surveys and test reports on this subject. The conclusion is that the impact is negligible compared to other sources of pollution. In any case we take the responsibility to reduce pollution as much as possible.

When the Stockholm Water Festival set up environmental criteria for their displays we were way ahead of them and had already banned mercury, arsenic and lead as components in our fireworks.

Besides avoiding certain chemicals we reduce environmental impact by our choice of materials:

We use mainly biodegradable paper or cardboard in our fireworks and avoid plastic as much as possible. Display shells made of plastic create sharp shards that could harm spectators or people and animals stepping on them long after the show.

We also sort our garbage in various fractions and regularly recycle metal, paper, glass etc.
